  • I / We understand that before the ceremony can take place both parties to be married / form a civil partnership need to give notice and I / we understand if this is not completed, the ceremony cannot take place.
  • Please read the information on giving notice of intention before making your ceremony booking.
  • I / We accept that it is our responsibility to book a notice appointment in time for the ceremony date (see below), and understand that some offices will have a long waiting time for these appointments.
  • I / We understand that there needs to be at least 30 days between the date of giving notice and the date of the ceremony, and if the 30th day falls on a weekend / bank holiday, this will increase the waiting time for the document(s) to be issued.
  • I / We understand that if one or both of us is a non EEA national, without appropriate immigration status, or relevant visa, we will be referred to the Home Office for investigation, and the statutory waiting period will increase to 72 days.
  • I / We confirm that if either my partner or I have previously been married or in a civil partnership, the supporting documentation to prove that I / we are now free lawfully to marry / form a civil partnership is required when giving notice
  • I / We understand that if further investigations are required to verify the documents, then neither the Register Office, nor the General Register Office would accept liability if the ceremony could not go ahead on the date booked.
